Learning to Automate

Part of reaching my goal is to free up time so I can expand on and create new sources of income. That means automating tedious but necessary tasks. Outsourcing what I can’t automate and eliminating time wasting tasks that only slow me down and don’t make money.

So far I found a virtual assistant from oDesk at only $3 an hour and he does a great job on the tasks I have given him so far.

I have contacted a programmer to write a script for one of my websites which will take care of 75% of the customer issues I currently get. This will free up at least an hour a day!

I setup a helpdesk and I’m starting to funnel all customer questions to it so I have a centralized location to handle customer issues instead of everything coming to my email account. I will eventually outsource the helpdesk to free up even more time.

I also turned my “contact me” pages into FAQ pages with a small link to my helpdesk at the bottom. I hoping this will serve to better answer the most common questions quickly and slow questions down, thus freeing up more time.

Things are progressing nicely. So far sales this month have already surpassed sales from the last month, which is great!

Time to get back to work!
